To begin, here is an introduction to Brave Books:
On August 24th, join us at Central Library in Conroe TX, at 10am where the adventure begins!
These story hours will take you and your kids/grandkids on an epic adventure! Join us for Brave Books Saga 4, which are not yet in our libraries! Our journey begins as Mr. Mouse has set out to rescue Team Brave in the first story, The Mouse & The Sea by Heidi St. John. In this story Mr. Mouse learns that he can’t do it alone, and he needs and accepts the help of his friends.
With the help of his friends, he rescues Team Brave, and they land on the shore of a mysterious island DOM-A-TRON!
In the second book, Happy No Snakes Day, by Riley Gaines, they venture through the island and find a town of squirrels playing. Rebel and Team Brave must decide whether to save themselves or warn their new friends about the incoming danger. In this book, our kids will learn about the importance of standing for truth.
The next two books are flash backs of characters in their youth. The Never-Give-Up Pup by Lara Trump is about Seymour Clues, working to become a detective. This book teaches the importance of hard work and perseverance. Then we have a beautiful princess story called One Small Voice by Leigh-Allyn Baker. All children will love hearing this story about standing up for what is right with courage.
We will have a few extra special surprises including a giveaway with BRAVE Books and BRAVE products that kids love! All of the books at this event will be read by members of the Conservative Slate for Conroe ISD.
Another reminder that this is a FUN family event, not a political event. This is a wonderful way for these ladies to give back to the community, and I am so thankful for their willingness to serve in this way.
Go home, eat some lunch, and join us again that afternoon at…
The South Regional Library in The Woodlands at 2:30pm where the Saga Continues!!
Team Brave is still stranded on the island of DOM-A-TRON! Our first guest reader will be Judge Echo Hutson, who will be reading A Tale of Two Tigers by Trent Talbot. This book teaches the dangers of jumping to conclusions. Will the tigers be able to put their differences aside and help each other find a way off the island?
We will then be joined by County Commissioner Elect Ritch Wheeler who will be reading The Bear Essentials of Fatherhood by Keith Sorbo. While Mobi did not grow up knowing his father, this does not prevent him from being a dedicated father himself. In fact, it is precisely for that reason that he knows why fathers are so important!
We will then be joined by Malaisha Cartwright the 100th adoptee from Possum Trot (Sound of Hope) who will join us to read Dear Valor by Jep and Jessica Robertson. This book is about adoption, and Malaisha will be talking about foster care.
Tell your friends, find an event near you!
This is a national event with 360 locations in all 50 states! In fact, there are two additional locations in Montgomery County! You can find a map on the website: bravestoryhour.com
We have two other story hours in Montgomery County! Find details on the Brave Map! The City of Montgomery location will begin at 1pm!
Guinness Book of World Records??
Kirk Cameron shoots for a Guinness World Record for "the world's largest attendance for a wholesome family story hour." Grab your kids, grab your friends, and LET’S GO!!
